Yes, the free tier is really free. No, we are not going to enshittify it in eighteen months. We physically cannot — your Mac Mini does the work. Our servers are not involved. We would have to break into your house to degrade your experience, and that seems like a lot of effort for a SaaS company.

Our cost to serve a Core user is $0.00. Your Mac Mini does all the work. We will never degrade the free tier to push upgrades — it is good business to have happy free users who tell their friends. Also, we sleep better at night. Both things are true.

Cloud AI Budget

Paid tiers include a monthly cloud AI budget for requests that go beyond your local models — complex reasoning, code generation, long-context analysis. The kind of thinking that makes your Mac Mini’s fan spin up and say “not this one, chief.” Usage beyond the included budget is billed at cost + 20%.

All cloud requests pass through the PII anonymization layer. Personal data (names, emails, phone numbers) is scrubbed before it leaves your network and restored when the response returns. Your external AI provider never sees who you are. You are a ghost who asks very specific questions about YAML configuration.

FAQ

Can I use Sanctum without paying anything? Yes. Core runs entirely on your hardware with local models. No cloud, no subscription, no limits. No catch. We are aware this sounds suspicious in 2026. We understand your skepticism. It is warranted by the behavior of every other company.

What happens if I cancel a paid plan? You keep Core. Your config, automations, and local agents continue working. Cloud features and multi-site sync stop. Your house does not forget how to be a house.

Is there a free trial for paid tiers? Every paid tier has a 14-day free trial. No credit card required. We are not going to auto-charge you on day 15 and hope you do not notice. That business model is for people who hate their customers.

Do you sell my data? No. We never have your data. Everything runs on your hardware. That is the entire point. If we wanted your data, we would not have built a platform specifically designed to keep it away from us.
